UWF Art Appreciation students will be helping community members reflect on their hopes and desires through a community-based art project called Before I Die. The project, created by the students of Lecturer Carrie Fonder, is based on the work of New Orleans artist Candy Chang. What started for Chang as a personal reflection on loss became an international project that has fostered community and connection worldwide. Pensacola community members will have an opportunity to engage with the project this spring at the University of West Florida’s Center for Fine and Performing Arts, as well as at Voices of Pensacola Multicultural Center. The panels are in the lobby of the Center for the Fine and Performing Arts, Building 82, on the University’s Pensacola Campus at 11000 University Parkway until April 8. After that, the panels will be on display at the Voices of Pensacola presented by Gulf Power, located at 117 E. Government St., through May 20.
